There Was a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow

I LOVE that Scholastic has dollar books as part of their Reading Club. This month's dollar book was There Was a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow by Lucille Colandro. I already had one copy of the story and audio cd from Scholastic so I purchased two more copies. I like to have 3 copies of each book for my listening centers. I created a pack to go along with it. Check out my TeachersPayTeachers store.

I use the sequencing cards and sheet as part of my listening center. Below is a picture of my student completing the same sheet but for the book There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Book by Lucille Colandro. You can find that pack in my store too.

We create a class book in our writing center. This is a big hit every month. I do not have one yet for this book.  After students finish working on their page in the class book, they put the vocabulary words from the story in alphabetical order.

During our whole class writing time we label the picture of the snowman. My students always forget to label pictures in their own writing. Afterwards they use the snowman in their writing and have to draw a picture and label it.

In the word work center, students will complete the beginning sounds, ending sounds, and syllable worksheets.
